Educate yourself about the history and function of book covers from the medieval period to contemporary times. The Printed Word: Never Say '’Never Judge a Book by Its Cover" is a lecture which will be held on March 14, 3 p.m. at the Ayala Museum, presented by Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL) and Professor May Jurilla, PhD. An exhibit curated by Dr. Jurilla will run until March 21, featuring an edition of Flora de Filipinas, a full-colored illustrated study on Philippine flora by Augustinian priest and botanist Manuel Blanco, and others that help trace the history of cover production in the Philippines.

 

Tickets are at P300 for adults and P150 for students, senior citizens, Ayala Group of Companies employees and members of the Filipinas Heritage Library and Ayala Museum. Lecture fees include admission to the museum exhibitions.

Taste the favorite dishes of major Italian composers Rossini, Verdi, Corelli and many others at La Cucina all'Opera: The Taste of Music, happening on March 14, 4 p.m., at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5. Celebrating the food and music of the region, the event promises to be a unique literary, musical, and gastronomic journey. Expect a presentation of the book Cucina all'Opera, Musica e Cibo in Emilia-Romagna (The Operatic Kitchen, Music and Food in Emilia-Romagna) written by Giancarlo Fre and translated into English by his wife Margherita Spinazzola, the exhibit of Il Gusto della Musica (The Taste of Music), cooking demos and food tasting, and the music of Italian composers from the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

They continue to be a versatile group, tapping a profusion of rock subgenres and adding their unique sound. Dagitab tells the story of a woman who is dragged into a scandal that involves a young student while her marriage to another professor is on the verge of falling apart. On the other hand, the man falls in love with his research-a deity that appears to him as the ghost of an old flame. Instant Mommy follows the story of Bechayda, a two-months-pregnant wardrobe assistant for a TV commercial production. So as not to lose her Japanese lover and her dreams of a better life, she embarks on a plan that will get herself out of her sticky situation.
