You’ll keep on worrying about them every second of every day you’re not at home with them. Fortunately, pet hotels and boarding houses are everywhere in the Metro, so you could at least have peace of mind knowing that your dogs and cats are not alone and are being well taken care of. One of the places you should consider visiting with your pets is Barkhaus, a pet hotel, boarding house, and a whole lot more. It currently has two branches: one at Eastwood Mall in Quezon City; and another at Estancia Mall in Pasig City.

What do we mean by a lot more, you ask? At Barkhaus, you’ll find anything and everything for your pets’ well-being.
Aside from the standard pet lodging service, Barkhaus also has a space for grooming, playing, and photo shoots. And hey, should you need supplies and other trinkets for your babies (because that’s how spoiled—err, loved—they are)—there’s also a wide array of cute pet things that will welcome you as soon as you step inside the store. There’s even a dedicated space for you to chill and enjoy a cup of coffee as your pets play with their canine friends.
Inside Barkhaus
As to not get overwhelmed, we’ll take you step by step inside Barkhaus. First off, the store. From treats, shampoos, and soaps to leashes, collars, and other adorable stuff you may or may not be able to resist getting for your pets are displayed out in the open. The main desk is right in the middle where you can inquire and view Barkhaus’ rates and other offers.
Just behind the counter are glass walls that overlook the indoor play park. The two-hour fee of P300 covers the entrance of your pet (a.k.a. "barkmate") and two human companions. Colorful balls are scattered around the spacious area for your pets to play with and meet other furry friends
A Space for Fur Parents
Turn right on the overhead sign that says “coffee,” and you’ll be led to a quaint space that serves as a cafe for fur parents to enjoy a nice drink. You can either have coffee or a non-coffee beverage before going out for some errands or just hang out for some alone timeThe cafe also serves puppuccino.
Pet Photo Shoots
If you’re been meaning to do a photo shoot with your pets, you could also do so at this Barkhaus branch. You can waltz in with your fur babies in tow, maybe in matching clothes, and have your family pictures taken! They have two packages. The starting package (P888) can get you 15 minutes in the studio with your dog plus printed and digital copies.
Cat Boarding and Dog Hotel
From the cafe, you’d have a view of the cool boarding house for your feline friends. A single cabin costs P900, while a villa (up to two cats) costs P1,600. Cat play dates in the boarding house are also welcome! Meanwhile, the dog hotel is situated a bit further into the back of Barkhaus. The rates for the dog hotels start at P1,150 for small dogs, P1,250 for medium dogs, and P1,450 for large dogs.
Grooming Services
Should your fur babies need some pampering, you can also head to Barkhaus for their grooming services. Rates vary for dogs, while the starting bath and dry service for cats are at P600. Your pets can enjoy either basic grooming packages or ala carte services such as nail trimming, filing, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and even de-matting.
