(SPOT.ph) Inspired by the gravity-defying twists and tumbles of our very own Olympians Carlos Yulo, Aleah Finnegan, Emma Malabuyo, and Levi Jung-Ruivivar? Well, it's never too late to give gymnastics a shot.
Sure, you start gymnastics ideally at a young age, but who says kids get to have all the fun? While mulling over our own lost Olympic dreams and the possibility of unleashing our inner athlete, we spotted Athletica Gymnastics in Quezon City. Unlike your usual weightlifting or cardio-led facilities, this gym is especially designed for learning all the flips and twists you need to soar to Artistic Gymnastics glory—the best part is, you can try it all starting at just P250.

TBH, looking at the bars, pommel horse, beams, and other apparatus can be a tad intimidating, but at Athletica Gymnastics, you can first try out the gym's programs and facilities before committing to a full set of sessions. For just P250, you can sign up for a trial of your chosen program which, if you're over 18, would be the Adult Gymnastics sessions.
The Adult Gymnastics sessions are personalized programs designed to help you achieve your goals, whether that's performing a jaw-dropping floor routine, improving your flexibility, or simply mastering a somersault.
You don't have to worry about learning everything yourself. Each session has a coach or trainer who will help you learn the techniques you need. Athletica Gymnastic's coaches are members of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP). This includes head coach Allan Rivera, a former trampolining coach of the Philippines team who trained under a former coach of the Philippine team himself. Other coaching staff members are also experienced gymnastics trainers for different teams in the country. TLDR: you're in good hands.
You can sign up for the trial session by filling out their form online. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes for the sessions. Attire can be yoga outfits, cotton or dry fit tops and short or long leggings for your bottoms.
Once you've decided on pursuing gymnastics, you can enroll in their full program which can range from single practice sessions or class bundles of four, eight, 12, or 16 sessions per month.

You might not end up being the next Simone Biles or Carlos Yulo, but hey, should be worth a try. Setting aside your dreams of glitz, glamor, and glory, gymnastics is a great overall workout. As you may have seen from just how jacked and ripped gymnasts are, these exercises can develop your arm, leg, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscles. So, if you're looking for a not-your-usual way to get fit, gymnastics might just be for you.
Athletica Gymnastics is at 2/F The Strip, Circulo Verde, Calle Industria, Quezon City. For more information, visit the Athletica Gymnastics by SFCC Facebook page.
