Quick Tips for Fete de la Musique 2015
Wandering is good. Go get lost.
(SPOT.ph) Don't take this the wrong way, but get lost. This month, put on your most comfortable pair of shoes and explore Makati as music takes over the streets once more for Fête de la Musique on June 20 and 21. The weekend is packed and you should dive into the festival prepared.
Hydrate: Water for you and powerbank for your phone.
You're going to want something between the liquor you will likely nurse at different venues. Bring your own water bottle—don't be the guy who chucks disposable plastic on the street. Meanwhile, your phone is useless—for Googling or posting on Instagram—if it dies before you can get to the next venue. If you're debating about whether or not you should bring this, our vote is yes.
Wear the right threads.
Tie your hair up, put on some sneaks. Leave your sunglasses at home—this is a late-afternoon affair that will last until just before the break of dawn. You can wear whatever you want (it's your life) as long as you can comfortably dance in it. Keep in mind that you're in the tropics and even when you're indoors, there's going to be a crowd. Keep it presko.
Discover new bands.
Your favorite artists will be playing (even Taken By Cars is playing at A SPACE) and all the coolest DJs will be playing their sets...however, do yourself a favor and check out new music. It's free admission, after all.
Know the stages.
Here's a quick guide:
- Jazz Stage: St. Giles (June 20) and Hyatt City of Dreams (June 21)
- Indie Stage: 12 Monkeys
- Electronica Stage: TIME
- Mod Stage: Alchemy Bistro
- Blues, Soul and Funk Stage: H&J Bar

Dance!
No excuses. Do it.
