Manila is the next luxury hot spot, according to 2017 Forbes Travel Guide
They've also listed a number of Metro Manila hotels among the world's finest.
(SPOT.ph) The Forbes Travel Guide, considered a global authority on luxury travel, announced in February the recipients of the 2017 Global Star Ratings. And for the first time since the award-giving body's inception in 1958, the Philippines made it to the list.
Manila debuts on the list with two Five-Star hotels: Marco Polo Ortigas Manila and Sky Tower at Solaire Resort and Casino. This highly coveted rating is given to "outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities" by Forbes Travel Guide's anonymous professional inspectors.
In the article "Why Manila Is the Next Luxury Hot Spot," Forbes contributor Jennifer Kester pointed out that the Filipinos' "well-earned reputation as warm and hospitable people" is an added bonus.
And "beyond the casinos," Kester says, "Manila beckons with other attractions." She cites theater as one of the biggest ones, noting that Wicked was staged again this year at The Theatre at Solaire.

"We take pride in the exceptional service that we provide for every guest who wish to find a sanctuary in the city with premium accommodations and award-winning dining destinations. You will definitely have your best hotel experience with us. This award is the fulfilment of our hard work and passion for service,” he continued.

Hyatt City of Dreams Manila, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, Fairmont Makati, and Raffles Makati were also awarded the Four-Star Rating. These properties are known to "offer high levels of service and quality of facility to match."
Makati Shangri-La and Pan Pacific Manila, on the other hand, were considered as Recommended Hotels by Forbes Travel Guide.
