It's now easier than ever to book a hotel room
No more fumbling around with your account number.
(SPOT.ph) Filipinos are not really a fun bunch when it comes to credit cards. We worry about going overboard and drowning in debt just because we can't stop swiping. Some who actually do have credit cards are hesitant to provide details of their account online, fearing threats of fraud and identity theft. This becomes a bit of a problem when it comes to booking plane tickets and hotels through the Internet or purchasing other items online.
TravelBook.ph, an online travel e-commerce company, solved this problem in May 2016 when they launched the "Pay at Hotel, No Credit Card Needed" payment option as an exclusive offer for TravelBook.ph members. More than 1,000 of their hotel partners nationwide have adopted this scheme. More hotels around the Philippines have since signed up since the launch, including Azumi Boutique Hotel in Muntinlupa, Bluewater Sumilon Island in Cebu, and Club Paradise Resort in Palawan to name a few. You can even reserve a room at Alta Vista de Boracay, one of the luxurious resorts in the Summer Party Capital of the Philippines, through the website and pay less than P3,000 when you check in.
“Initially, most of the hotels hesitate and decline to join the service since there is always the possibility that guests will not show up on their check-in date and not pay the cancellation fee,” says Mr. Takumi Nakazawa, General Manager of TravelBook Philippines, Inc. As a solution, TravelBook.ph users who fail to cancel ahead of time or pay the cancellation fee are temporarily suspended from booking using the "Pay at Hotel" option.
