Quezon City Gets Its Own Dazzling Lights Display
These "Northern Lights" are within reach!
(SPOT.ph) When it comes to grand Christmas displays, people from the south have their Magical Field of Lights at Nuvali and those at the center of the Metro have the Festival of Lights at Ayala Triangle Gardens. But what about the northerners? For the first time ever, Vertis North—an Ayala Land development in Quezon City—presents the Vertis Northern Lights. The dazzling lights-and-sounds display was launched on November 16, and is scheduled to continue until January 8, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The spectacle features a giant cathedral draped in thousands of colorful lights, which is inspired by the Filipino Christmas tradition of the simbang gabi. It is a collaboration between designers Zenas Pineda and Voltaire de Jesus, the same guy behind Makati's Festival of Lights. To complement the Christmas cheer, musical medleys are played during the four-hour show with 30-minute intervals. This includes "Pinoy Fiesta" by Roy del Valle, "Traditional Christmas" by Von de Guzman, and "Techno Christmas" by Tris Suguitan.
The Vertis Northern Lights show runs until January 8, every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Vertis North, North Avenue, Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City. For more information, follow Ayala Malls Vertis North on Facebook.
