(SPOT.ph) Compostela Valley in Mindanao is most known for its natural attractions, such as cascading waterfalls and one-of-a-kind sulfuric hot springs. But residents in Barangay Elizalde in Maco are hoping to draw more tourists by decorating one of their streets with 2,000 colorful umbrellas.
Aside from boosting tourism, the Instagram-worthy project is part of efforts to renovate Immaculada Concepcion Quasi-Parish in the barangay. Visitors and residents who wish to chip in can purchase an umbrella for P250.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News Davao, the local tourism office plans to add more colorful umbrellas along other streets if the project proves to be successful.
The next time you're in this part of Davao Region, don't forget to make a pit stop in Maco!
