Ninongs and Ninangs: Spread the Holiday Cheer at the Metro's Newest Digital Playground

Your inaanak will thank you!

(SPOT.ph) With the rise of mobile apps and game consoles, gone are the days when kids played under the sun (or even the full moon) and ran around the neighborhood for a game of tag or patintero. This technology behind glaring scenes will just get more and more advanced by the minute, and it's only a matter of time before playtime takes on a completely different meaning. Robinsons Land already took the lead in this when it launched the country's first ever digital playground, PlayLab, at Robinsons Galleria Cebu in January. On October 31, it officially opened Metro Manila's first PlayLab at Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas.

PlayLab was launched to the press on October 30; it officially opened on October 31.

PlayLab is a permanent, indoor, interactive and digital playground that offers both physical and technology-based playing aids. Unlike video games on the screen, kids get to interact with video projections; and unlike your traditional playhouse, the young ones can slide down a digitally-lighted slope or try interactive wall-climbing. It has a total of 14 installations, all collaborations between Filipino media artists and foreign digital experts from Russia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The digital park also encourages human interaction between kids and stimulates creativity and logic—something that you wouldn't normally see when the young ones are glued to their phones and tablets.
