Sanrio Fans, Japan Has a New Hello Kitty-Themed Train
We're pink with envy. (LOL)
(SPOT.ph) When Japan launched a Hello Kitty-inspired bullet train in June 2018, Sanrio fans of all ages—especially those living in Osaka and Fukuoka in the Land of the Rising Sun—were thrilled. The service ran for a limited time from Shin-Osaka to Hakata and vice versa last year; but it was more than enough reason to encourage West Japan Railway Company to operate a character-wrapped train this 2019. On January 29, a new Hello Kitty train was launched through the express train service, Haruka, which connects Kyoto Station to Kansai Airport Station in Osaka.
Unlike the first Hello Kitty Shinkansen, the Hello Kitty Haruka has everyone's favorite cat in a traditional dress and surrounded with floral and butterfly silhouettes. Interior of the carriages are as dainty, with pastel yellow curtains and more floral accents.
One-way fare from Kyoto to Osaka and vice versa is at 3,600 yen.
