Breathtaking Church Ceilings Come Alive at Ayala Triangle Gardens This Christmas
The Metro's busiest district is all lit up for the holidays.
(SPOT.ph) When one thinks of cheery Christmas sights in Metro Manila, what of the things that easily come to mind is the spectacular lights and sounds show at Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati City. In 2018, they boasted a larger-than-life Mickey-shaped light display amid colorful bursts of laser lights. For 2019, Ayala Land ups the ante with Gallery of Lights, which features the traditional canopy of lights in the business district's pocket garden and an extra visual treat called Carol of Lights. This Christmas spectacle is on display every day from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. until January 12, 2020.

Voltaire de Jesus and Luther Gumia take the helm in the lighting design for Gallery of Lights. It features smoke effects, laser lights, and noodle lights hanging from tree trunks and branches at Ayala Triangle Gardens. These light fixtures turn on and off in sync with three medleys, including a techno-inspired number by Tris Suguitan, jazz tunes by Mel Villena, and Pinoy Christmas carol beats by Von de Guzman.
Carol of Lights, which is a 3D video mapping show projected at the dome of Tower One and Exchange Plaza, will wow spectators for the first time this Christmas. It features grandiose ceilings and stained glass windows from local and international churches. Now, you don't have to fly to Italy to see the breathtaking ceiling of Sant’Andrea della Valle or to Vatican City for the Sistine Chapel. These projections were designed by G.A. Fallarme, conceptualized with Henk-Gert Lenten, and made possible by Epson Philippines.

"The Gallery of Lights by Ayala Land is the highlight of our year. It’s our way of giving back to the community and making the holidays more meaningful for many Filipino families," Cathy Bengzon, Ayala Land's head of corporate marketing, said in a statement.

"Filipinos celebrate Christmas like nobody else in the world. It’s a special time that brings families together, and it truly brings us joy knowing how we have become a part of this tradition. And each year we are inspired to make the event even more memorable than the last. That is why this time around, we’re making the event brighter with new additions to the whole production, and a line-up of activities that we hope will bring cheer to everyone," Bengzon added.
Gallery of Lights is on display at the Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati Avenue corner Ayala Avenue, Makati City. The show runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. until January 12, 2020. For updates, follow Make it Makati on Facebook.
