(SPOT.ph) When 2020 started, most of us were excited to finally tick off a bucket-list destination we've been dreaming about—whether locally or abroad. But the year has other plans, apparently. Now, we're just stuck at home waiting for the day when we can finally go out without having to do the whole production number of wearing a face mask and a face shield, donning a PPE jacket, and packing some alcohol and soap supply. Until then, El Nido Resorts—a group of high-end accommodations scattered around the world's best island—is reopening through a "travel bubble" scheme where three-night vacations inclusive of direct flights from Metro Manila are scheduled twice a month. The next trip is from September 25 to 28 at El Nido Resorts on Miniloc Island, El Nido, Palawan.
After being the first to receive the Department of Tourism's Certificate to Operate, El Nido Resorts can now accept leisure guests at a 50% capacity. They're also implementing contactless booking, which requires travel and health declarations and negative results from RT-PCR testing taken 72 hours prior to departure; low-contact check-in and check-out via QR codes, e-mail, and cashless payment options; regular disinfection and cleaning of rooms; and installation of protective barriers in all reception areas. Guests are encouraged to wear PPEs (face masks, shields, et cetera), avail of in-room dining, and follow physical distancing measures (seat markers). Use of spa, main pools, and gyms are restricted.

The property also has their own direct flights flying in and out from AirSwift's private hangar near Ninoy Aquino International Airport's Terminal 4 to Lio Airport within the Lio Tourism Estate. Safety measures are also implemented inside the planes, while shuttles to and from the airport are sanitized after every trip.
The maiden flight for this "new normal" campaign happened in July, and its success encouraged them to implement the same travel option starting in August. The three-night vacation from September 11 to 14 was immediately sold out within days of its announcement. El Nido Resorts expects that this system will continue until December.
El Nido Resorts can also be found on Apulit Island, Pangulasian Island, and Lagen Island; but only Miniloc Island is open for leisure travel. Guests are required to book all three nights from September 25 to 28. For more information, visit El Nido Resorts - Miniloc Island's website.
