(SPOT.ph) The very thin silver lining of the ongoing quarantine is that we now got too much time in our hands. We've done away with the hours spent in traffic, in a useless meeting, waiting for food at a restaurant, and all the other unneccessary things we've been wasting precious minutes on. The question now is what to do with our idle hands. Instagram account @artescapist.ph taps into our inner artists with paint-by-numbers kits (and hopefully get our mind of the negative things happening this 2020).
Launched on August 21, Art Escapist PH sells kits for recreating masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh, including "Starry Night over the Rhone," "Café Terrace at Night," "Sunflowers," "Wheatfield with Cypresses" and many more. The idea of paint-by-numbers kits came from American artist Dan Robbins, who popularized the American pastime in the early 1950s. It was inspired by the Leonardo da Vinci, who supposedly used a similar method in teaching his apprentices how to paint.
Each paint-by-numbers kit (P699) comes with a numbered canvas (50 cm x 40 cm), a reference photo, a how-to guide, a care guide, three brushes, one set of acrylic paint pots, and two pairs of screws and hooks so you can hang your masterpiece. To order from Art Escapist PH, just send them a message on Instagram. Free shipping applies if you buy more than two painting kits.
