(SPOT.ph) Domestic and international travel has finally resumed, but not without caveats. Some countries, like Thailand and Cambodia, are requiring tourists to have some form of travel or health insurance. Other places don't require it, but travelers still opt to get one just for some peace of mind.
If you happen to be a Visa Infinite cardholder in the Philippines, then note that financial services company Visa and global insurer AIG Philippines Insurance Inc. have teamed up to launch a new travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage. Subscribers automatically get complimentary coverage for all domestic and international trips between December 4 to December 3, 2022 as long as you pay with your Visa-branded credit card issued by Citibank, EastWest, Maybank, and RCBC Bankard.
"It gives me great pleasure to introduce this new Visa Infinite Travel Insurance Protection with COVID-19 coverage. Our study shows that luxury travel (46%) and transportation (38%) are the most popular searches online among affluent Filipino holidaymakers. Safety is a top priority for consumers thinking about the return to travel and this insurance will provide Filipinos with added peace of mind knowing they’ll be covered for COVID-19 related expenses," Dan Wolbert, Visa country manager for the Philippines and Guam said in a statement.
The Visa Infinite Travel Insurance Protection with COVID-19 coverage includes reimbursement for the following:
- Travel accidents of up to U.S. $100,000 for international trips and U.S. $50,000 for domestic trips
- Overseas medical expenses including COVID-19
- Trip inconveniences including COVID-19
- Baggage protection
- Travel assistance
