(SPOT.ph) Studies say that the current parent-age generation prefer to take care of pets rather than have babies. Pet parents spend on expensive but nutritious pet food, make sure that vaccinations are up to date, and spoil their furbabies with the most exciting toys and coolest clothes. But there's more to pet parenthood other than the cute dog accessories. If you're a first-time pet owner, you can sign up for Royal Canin's five-day virtual event where you can learn the basics of raising a pet cat or dog. Royal Beginnings: Puppy and Kitten Central runs from March 22 to 26 through Royal Canin's website.

Here's what to expect at this virtual event for pet owners:

You can head to the Event Atrium Stage of Royal Beginnings: Puppy and Kitten Central to check out the roster of speakers regarding pet parenthood, from proper nutrition to other must-haves. There's also the Ask-a-Vet Portal, where you can drop your queries and get some tips from veterinarians and other pet experts.

You can also head to the Pawsome Playground, a virtual playground where you and your pet can enjoy some games and be rewarded with discount vouchers; the Purrfect Photobooth for memorable snapshots; and Pet Shop, where you can purchase Royal Canin goodies with discounts. If you feel lost while hovering around the interactive hub, there's the Concierge for general questions.

Registered guests also get their own Pet Care Checklist, which comes with a raffle stub that gives you the chance to be one of the 10 lucky winners of two months' worth of Royal Canin goodies, Royal Canin Club points, and free teleconsultations. There are also up to 150 mini-prizes that are up for grabs.

"At Royal Canin, we have always been dedicated to supporting new and soon-to-be pet parents through Royal Beginnings, our webinar for pet owners. As our pets’ development is crucial to ensure they are healthy and happy, we wanted to continue this tradition, this time taking it to the next level and make it more engaging and memorable, for our community. We hope that this five-day event can provide more experiences for pet owners undergoing the process of their pet’s Start of Life," said Gerard Poa, Royal Canin Philippines' Marketing Head.
