(SPOT.ph) Bali, a popular tropical destination in Indonesia, is one of the few places that reopened its borders to domestic tourists at the height of the pandemic in 2020, then to international tourists from just 19 countries in October 2021. In March, they had a two-week trial run of quarantine-free travel not only in Bali but also in Batam and Bintan. This April, the country is lifting all quarantine protocols for arriving tourists. And if you're a Philippine passport holder, you can fly direct to Bali through their Visa on Arrival scheme.

Here are the latest Bali travel requirements (as of April 5) for a quarantine-free entry:

  • Philippine passport (valid for at least six months)
  • IDR 500,000 for payment of Visa on Arrival*
  • Roundtrip tickets to and from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport
  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate (doses should have been completed at least 14 days before departure from the country of origin)
  • Negative RT-PCR test results taken within 48 hours in the country of origin
  • Proof of ownership of health insurance with COVID-19 coverage
  • PeduliLindungi mobile app registration

Take note that Visa on Arrival for Filipino nationals only applies if you arrive directly in Bali (not in Jakarta or any other airport in Indonesia). This is valid for 30 days and can be extended once. It can be purchased for U.S. $35 or IDR 500,000 in the arrival halls of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.
