(SPOT.ph) Makati City is known for its towering skyscrapers, busy streets, and corporate lifestyle. It’s so easy to get lost in this concrete jungle with all the underpasses, walkways, and side streets. That, however, doesn’t stop thousands of people from flocking to the city not just for business but also for leisure—heck it has even become many tourists’ favorite city in Metro Manila. This begs us to ask, though, what do we know about Makati City aside from the malls and the skyscrapers?
Thanks to the city’s International Relations Department, we no longer have to spend hours googling about the city’s must-visits and history. The Makatizen Free Walking Tours resumes on Tuesday, August 2, for both residents and foreigners. The schedule is from Tuesday to Sunday with a different area of Makati featured daily.

Here’s what you can expect from the free walking tours in Makati City:
Tours start at different times and have different meet-up points. On Tuesdays, devotees and art enthusiasts can visit the St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Church- Garden Way of the Cross; on Wednesdays and Fridays, urban enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the hustle and bustle of the Central Business District; Thursdays are for exploring downtown Poblacion, which has roots that can be traced back to the 1600s; and the weekends are for exploring the city’s community markets—the Salcedo Community Market and Legazpi Sunday Market.
