Ring in William Shakespeare's 451st birthday with Shake It Off: A Shakespearean Open Mic Nighthappening on April 25, 5 p.m. at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. The Atrium will be a makeshift Globe Theater and you are invited to take the center stage. Catch UP Repertory Company's Karitas at Damaso x Isang Magsasakarunning from April 24 to 27 and May 1, 7 p.m., at the Bulwagang Tandang Sora in UP Diliman. Get ready for a party with ravaged personas lingering in the darkness behind church doors and beyond the forests. U.Z. Eliserio's Karitas at Damaso is a musical satire about fanaticism, featuring four devout Catholics (a priest, two nuns, and a lady) who unravel certain experiences in sin and sex in an action-filled battle of faith and wits. Isang Magsasaka by Reuel Aguila is a Palanca-award winning play that tells one violent incident through three different narratives, a testament that reality is indeed painted in multicolor and shades of gray. Electrolychee and Craft MNL have teamed up to bring Jeepney Sticker Lettering Workshop for fans of jeepney folk art and graphic jeepney typography! Jeepney lettering is a self-taught, passed-down form of folk art undertaken by dedicated artisans. Inspired by Electrolychee’s jeepney folk art book “Biyaheng Langit," this workshop will be conducted by Kuya Sherwin Opiana, a veteran jeepney artisan with over 20 years street cred. It will be held on April 25, 2 p.m., at the Craft MNL Makati Studio. Basic techniques in jeepney-style vinyl (sticker) decal lettering will be taught, such as lettering styles, scoring and cutting vinyl, color combinations, and embellished graphic lettering. The workshop fee is P2,150.
