Madrid Fusion Manila 2016 runs from April 7 to 9 at the SMX Convention Center, where the most acclaimed chefs from across the globe come together to celebrate Spanish flavor. It also happens to be the 450th anniversary of the Galleon Trade that linked Asia with the Western World. Egg Theater Company presents its first full-run production with a Filipino Translation of Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman. It tells the story of a writer in an unidentified totalitarian state, being interrogated about his gruesome and macabre short stories that have inspired a series of child murders. The production is a dark comedy that boldly exhibits the riveting power of narrative. The story explores the fine line between the freedom of an individual to tell a story and its impact on the security of society. Catch The Pillowman from April 8 to 10 and from April 22 to 24, 8 p.m., at the Pineapple Lab.

Manix Abrera fans, rejoice! The well-loved artist will be revealing his Kikomachine favorites through an exhibit, Bukal sa Puso ng Lagim, opening on April 9, 6 p.m., at Galerie Stephanie. He will feature a selection of early Kikomachine Komiks’ "pag-ibig" strips, showcasing the artist’s personal favorites, along with original pages and covers from the Kikomachine universe. See new creations from Manix in an entirely new medium. Check out Kikomachine books at the exhibit and get yourself artworks from the exhibit, which runs through April 22. Entrance is free.

Fujifilm takes the art of craftsmaking to another level as it presents another afternoon of crafting magic at Instax and Crafts at the Market! Market! Activity Center on April 9, 1 p.m. Touted to be the biggest DIY event this summer, these special workshops will focus on Greeting Card Making and Paper Die-Cut Mobile with Mikko Sumulong of I Try DIY and Marielle Nadal-Reyes of Craft MNL. Filipina-French actress, model, and artist Solenn Heussaff launches Our People at the Pineapple Lab on April 8, a solo painting exhibition inspired by Solenn and her family's travels around the world. At the age of three, Solenn started formal painting lessons until she turned 18. Solenn's show consists of 25 vibrant and intimate works that portray the unique lives of her subjects; transporting the audience to Myanmar, Africa, and France, among others. In addition to her paintings, Pineapple Lab will have a preview of Solenn's future design projects and collaborations. The exhibit runs until May 8.
