Come join Phil Kaye and Sarah Kay on May 7, 7 p.m., at Villamor Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman. Project VOICE is proud to present two world-renowned spoken word poets: Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye. They've collectively garnered over nine million views online and toured live in over a dozen countries on stages from TED Talks to Lincoln Center. The duo are champions of vulnerability, cheerleaders for the unexpected, and ruthless flashlights for all your heart's nooks and crannies. Through their live performances and hands-on workshops, they introduce audiences young and old to the power of spoken word poetry and the possibilities of self-expression. Tickets are for P1,200++.

Find your way with words at FIRST DRAFT: A Spoken Word Workshop, happening on all Saturdays of May, from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., at DITO: Bahay ng Sining. Learn more about the craft of performance poetry from actual artists and educators. Meet poets who will share with you their experience and expertise. It's your chance to write in a friendly environment and people who can guide you from page to stage. Recital will be on June 4, 6 p.m. Workshop fee is P1,600, inclusive of workshop kit and food.

Map the Philippines at the Quiapo Walking Tour and Mapping Party on May 7, 12 p.m.! During the Walking Tour, you'll hear stories behind the color and character of the Quiapo district, the former downtown of Manila. Tour stops include Quiapo Market for truly Filipino crafts and their popular lumpia, hopia, noodles and curry stalls; San Sebastian Basilica, the only all-steel church in Asia, built in Belgium in the late 1880s, fitted with German stained glass and painted beautifully by the arts school which evolved to become UP Fine Arts; Historical Hidalgo Street lined with 300 year-old homes; and Bahay Nakpil, home of heroes of the 1896 revolution. Join Anina Rubio in her Watercolor Painting Class on May 7 and 14, 2 p.m., at the Nipa Hut Restaurant in Pasig. Learn basic color theory and mixing, watercolor mixtures, techniques, and how to paint simple flowers and leaves. The final artwork, which is a postcard, will be mailed.
