Oftentimes, coffee serves a simple, if utilitarian, purpose: waking someone up. It’s that much needed pick-me-up to get up and get through the day. It is not so often used as an artistic medium and expression, as one Ella Hipolito boldly does. Ella’s upcoming exhibition will be another tour-de-force in her coffee mastery. Some of her newest works on display are coffee interpretations of Filipino myths: Ibong Adarna and Maria Makiling, which are imbued with Swarovski crystals woven into the canvas. Catch the opening of her Coffee Creativity on May 22, 4 p.m., at Art Circle Cafe in Y2 Residence Hotel.
