If you're wrung out from the isolation and monotony, a staycation might be up your alley. Most hotels in Cebu boast gorgeous infinity pools where you can take a relaxing dip amidst fantastic views. 

So take a day or two off, immerse yourself in any of these pools, rest your head on the edge, and take in the breathtaking views of the city lights, the mountains and hills, or the open seas.

Shangri-La Mactan has two pools within the property, but it’s the infinity pool that will give you summer vibes even during the -Ber months. Their infinity pool, offers a relaxing view of the Sea that is beautifully framed by swaying palm trees. The resort has a great selection of wining and dining options that will round up your stay. Deluxe Rooms at the Main Wing start at P8,000 for a night, featuring an “ocean to shore” theme that will make you want to embrace the view.

Maayo Hotel is the first and only wellness hotel in Cebu. Citadines Apart'Hotel is situated close to the city—it is not even a mile away from Fuente Osmeña Boulevard. Up on their sun deck where the infinity pool is, you can savor the incredible sight of the city buildings and streets as well as the skies and mountains beyond the city limits. The Pine Tree Mountain Resort is a hidden paradise, a retreat from the busy, buzzing city. Spread around its sloping six-hectare property are beautiful pine trees that transport you into a tranquil world. The Mediterranean-style villas add to the laid-back and rustic vibe of the resort. Up on the viewing deck, the infinity pool merges with the stunning panorama of the Balamban mountain ranges. This may indeed sound like a faraway world, but fret not about the travel time. This place is less than an hour away from JY Square Mall, Lahug. The day-use rate is P1,500 per person, with plated lunch and access to the pool.

Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort

Bluewater Sumilon is the only resort on Sumilon island. It has a private beach, a freshwater lagoon, a restaurant, and a bar. And yes, it has a crystalline infinity pool—perhaps the only pool you’ll see with a tree in the middle of it, jutting out like a miniature island. On top of that, the resort presents a rich variety of activities to make your stay beyond what you can imagine, such as island trekking, kayaking, pedal boating, fishing, diving, snorkeling, glamping, and bushcrafting.


To get to the island, go to Bancogon, Oslob, where the boats bound for Sumilon are docked. For weekdays, the rate is P1,800 for two persons, and P1,200 per extra person). For weekends and holidays, it’s P1,800 per person with a 4 + 1 promo. Inclusions are round-trip boat rides, a set meal and drink (a lunch buffet during weekends and holidays), and access to the resort’s amenities.

Rancho Cancio

Rancho Cancio in Balamban is a teeny bit far, maybe at least an hour’s ride away from the city, but it’s certainly worth it. It’s a privately owned rest house that is well-known for its sleek, minimalistic design and an expansive infinity pool where you can get an awesome 360-degree view of the mountains. Rancho Cancio is also an ideal place for family, teams, and friends as the whole place can be rented exclusively.


For day use, a minimum of 10 people are needed for a reservation. The rate is P8,600, with extra persons charged at P860 each. For overnight stays, 10 people are required for a single reservation, with bed rentals at P650 each. Rooms are non-aircon only.
