Plastic Tides

A continuation of the speculative project Maria Islands by Rotterdam-based artists Bianca Carague and Erik Peters, Plastic Tides imagines the possibility and future of an archipelago formed out of plastic waste. The two-man exhibit serves as a critical response to the amount of waste that comes from powerful nations and pollutes the waters of underdeveloped countries like the Philippines.
Runs until March 24 at MONO8 Gallery, BLK 113, 53 Connecticut Street, San Juan City.

Opens on March 6 at the Greenway Gallery of the Main Campus of the College of Saint Benilde, Taft Avenue, Manila.
The saddest song is the one you cannot sing

Ged Merino ponders the unfillable void after a significant loss, which he attempts to translate into The saddest song is the one you cannot sing. The media-based works, including textiles, objects, and terrariums, serve as Merino’s “ode to longing and a willingness to render time to a future past. It is about fathom presences and the human desire to hold fast and long those we love.”

winter high through the veins in search of hot weather
