(SPOT.ph) Barefoot Theatre Collaborative on Friday, February 16, announced that they're staging Bar Boys: A New Musical in May. They're the same theater company that brought us the all-original Filipino musical Mula sa Buwan and Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years.

What we know so far about Bar Boys: A New Musical:

Not much has been revealed by Barefoot Theatre Collaborative's teaser post on Friday noon, except for a clip of Sheila Francisco saying the line "Dear, future lawyers...". She's likely portraying the role of Justice Hernandez, previously played by Odette Khan in the 2017 film Bar Boys.

The film was written, co-produced, and directed by Kip Oebanda (Liway, Nay). It revolves around a group of friends who navigate the challenges of law school together. Each character's journey is marked by personal and academic hurdles, yet their bond and determination see them through to the end. It starred Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, Enzo Pineda, and Kean Cipriano.

Bar Boys: A New Musical opens in May.
