(SPOT.ph) If the return of The Phantom of the Opera in Manila this year wasn't enough to get every theater fan excited, then perhaps this might: Cats, another Andrew Lloyd Webber classic, is coming back to Manila soon. Although no exact dates have been announced yet, we do know that the award-winning classic musical will be showing at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City later this year.
We spotted the musical's billboard at Solaire Resort and Casino and have learned that it's going to be Concertus Manila's next production—the company has previously brought in Les Miserables (2016), Wicked (2017), and The Lion King (2018)—aside from the upcoming The Phantom of the Opera.

The musical first opened in West End in 1981 and then on Broadway in 1982. It won multiple awards, including the Best Musical at both the Laurence Olivier Awards and the Tony Awards. The 1983 production also bagged a number of Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design.
Cats first came to Manila in 2010, performed by an international cast including Lea Salonga at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
