Adults and children alike are welcome to experience the art and life of master artist Vincent Van Gogh through Grande Experiences' Van Gogh Alive 2023. Much like its 2019 run, this year's staging of the traveling exhibit features over 3000 of the master's most remarkable works brought to life through multimedia projections set to an evocative classical score.
Unlike most exhibits that let you wander halls with an unnerving silence featuring the masterpieces of famous artists, this one brings to light the colorful and eventually tragic tale of Van Gogh's personal life. Van Gogh Alive follows the artist's 10-year career, showing his varying painting styles and his volatile state of mind.
"Van Gogh Alive is a fascinating, cohesive story about one of the greatest-known artists in history,” said Maria Isabel Garcia, Managing Director and Curator of the Bonifacio Art Foundation.
“It touches you on so many levels, whoever you are. It is faithful to its promise to immerse you into the artist’s work, with glimpses into an inner life that led to his captivating masterpieces. Van Gogh Alive will hold you long beyond your visit."
The exhibit features five main rooms: The Introductory Hall, which shows quotes and descriptions of Van Gogh's most famous works; The Main Exhibition Hall, which features a 40-minute multisensory projection of Van Gogh's works juxtaposed with quotes and important milestones in his life; The Art Studio where adults and kids alike can take part in a draw-along experience of recreating the Starry Night and the Bedroom in Arles; The Sunflower Mirror Room where you can picture yourself in an optical illusion surrounded by the gorgeous yellow sunflowers; and the Bedroom which is a real-life replica of Van Gogh's bedroom.
