(SPOT.ph) Just a few days after the BGC Arts Center bid goodbye to the 2023 run of the traveling Van Gogh Alive exhibit, the space just teased the coming of an equally important art show featuring the works of another influential master.

On Friday night, the BGC Arts Center posted this message on their social media pages. "An epic adventure into French Impressionism is coming to the BGC Arts Center this January. Stay tuned!" This was accompanied by a photo of an all-too-familiar painting bearing the words "Coming Soon to BGC January 2024."

The painting is Claude Monet's 1899-dated Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies. Which leads us to believe we might be getting an exhibition centered around the French impressionist's life and works. Monet, an important figure in French art, is often regarded as one of the founders of impressionism. His scenes depicting nature, particularly those of his personal gardens, are revered in the art world and are seen as some of the most consistent applications of the philosophy of Impressionism.

SPOT.ph reached out to representatives of BGC Arts Center to confirm if indeed a Monet show is next on their lineup and to get an idea of what to expect but we were told to just keep our eyes peeled for more information in the coming days. They did, however, express their excitement over the the general public's interest.

What traveling Monet exhibits can we expect to hit the BGC Arts Center?

As of writing, there are a number of Monet-themed exhibits traveling around the world in various locations. Though we're not yet sure what is coming to BGC, here are ongoing shows featuring the French painter: Beyond Monet, Monet's Garden, Claude Monet: The Immersive Experience, En Voyage with Claude Monet | Immersive Exhibition, and Monet & Friends – Life, Light & Colour.

Among these traveling exhibitions, we're betting on Monet & Friends- Life, Light & Colour as the one that's Manila-bound; it's by the same company that ran the Van Gogh Alive exhibition after all. According to their website, Monet & Friends features "breathtaking paintings projected on an enormous scale with vivid detail to bring back larger than life brushstrokes of Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Cézanne and more."

And just like in Van Gogh Alive, the Impressionists' paintings here are also "set to a beautiful musical score," this time including pieces by Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Ravel and Offenbach. As the production's website says: "Monet & Friends Alive is an immersive experience that stimulates all the senses." And if the amount of works featured in the well-received Van Gogh Alive is any indication—it featured 3,000 works of the genius artist—then we can probably expect an equally staggering amount of larger-than-life paintings to marvel at in the coming show.
