These Fun Boxes Are Filled With Your Favorite Tita Essentials
They're decorated with paintings by Filipino artist Francis Nacion.
(SPOT.ph) Filipino artists are known to be some of the most versatile around the world. We have a composer who made music out of a piece of leaf (National Artist for Music Levi Celerio), a student who paints on used tea bags, and a 12th grader who makes art with ketchup. The latest art-inspired pieces that caught our attention are wooden boxes featuring colorful paintings—with lots of tita essentials you can find inside: Katinko products such as oils, ointments, and alcohol.
Katinko Art Box is a "project dedicated to promoting Filipino artists' masterpieces and helping them reach a wider audience by sharing their art online," according to a post by Katinko. The first five designs are made by Francis Nacion, a 39-year-old artist hailing from Kalibo, Aklan. He is mentored by Fernando Sena (a.k.a. "Father of the Philippine Art Workshop"), and later joined The Saturday Group alongside Mauro Malang Santos. Nacion is known for adding textural effects on his works, which he creates by etching and scraping; as well as incorporating traditional Filipino art on his paintings.
The 7.5" x 10.5" wooden Katinko Art Box includes a nasal decongestant, liniment roll-on and liniment oil, sports spray, ointment stick, hand sanitizer or alcohol, and the usual 10-gram ointment and 30-gram ointment. To order, send a msesage to Katinko's Instagram.
