(SPOT.ph) Taking risks never comes easy, but when done right it’s a worthy payoff. Taco Mata—the small shop known for their offbeat tacos with distinctive flavor combos (think fried chicken with muscovado sugar and peanuts, and the like)—is one successful example. Since their opening in 2020, they’ve expanded our horizons on what defines good tacos; as they started taking orders for delivery as the pandemic set in their community of fans has only grown.
They started out as a food stall in Poblacion, then later moved to a kitchen in Mandaluyong that's open only for curbside pick-up and delivery. By 2022, they returned to Makati. Three years in, sadly, they’ll be closing for now.

Taco Mata is closing up shop in the meantime:
Taco Mata’s Arthur and Arrah Dancel announced the closure in a video posted to Instagram. The couple will be traveling out of Manila and will close the shop for the time being.
Taco Mata’s Poblacion shop will stay open until February 18—drop by their Poblacion outpost while you still can, or order for delivery by finding them on GrabFood. The video hints at their heading back to Manila soon, in any case, so not all is lost.
Taco Mata is a small shop of one-of-a-kind tacos and is located in Makati.
Taco Mata is at 5686 Doña Carmen, Poblacion, Makati City. For delivery orders, find Taco Mata on GrabFood. You can also check out Taco Mata's Facebook page.
