(SPOT.ph) Almost every country has their own version of fried chicken. Taiwan is home to a number of varieties—including the made-for-munching popcorn chicken or bite-sized, seasoned boneless fried chicken! J&G Chicken is one Taiwanese icon known for the dish; after all, they’ve been around since 1973 and continue to fry up some of the tastiest versions in Taiwan to this day. No need to fly all the way to the country to get your fix, either. They’ve officially landed on our shores, by way of the new collaborative concept store they’re opening with milk-tea shop Gong Cha. It opens at Estancia Mall this coming Sunday, April 2.

Check out Gong Cha and J&G Chicken's partnership in Estancia:
This new concept store that's out to make bes-teas between Taiwanese fried chicken and milk tea will be on the fourth floor of Estancia Mall's East Wing, near the cinemas. All of the usual Gong Cha favorite drinks will be available, but the real kicker here is the additional items courtesy of J&G Chicken.
Both Gong Cha and J&G Chicken are famous Taiwanese snack stores, both having made their mark at home by serving up topnotch eats. While Gong Cha has been a player in the PH milk tea scene since 2009, this is J&G Chicken's first foray into the Philippine market. For the uninitiated, J&G Chicken is famous for their umami-rich, deep-fried popcorn chicken, along with other flavored chicken breading mixes like Curry Fried Chicken.
TBH, we're already salivating, and this is just their first store. Based on J&G Chicken's social media posts, they are expected to open in Trinoma, Eastwood, Ayala Malls Manila Bay pretty soon, tooo. Whether these other branches will be in collaboration again with Gong-Cha is still up in the air. We're keeping our fingers crossed that more milk tea places start serving savory and umami-rich finger food along with their drinks.
Gong Cha x J&G Fried Chicken will be at 4/F East Wing, Estancia Mall. For more information, visit Gong Cha Philippines' Facebook page or J&G Fried Chicken Philippines' Facebook page.
