(SPOT.ph) There is comfort in sticking with what we know works, especially if we're talking about food. Say, for example, Nikkei Nama Bar in Rada, this restaurant continues to be top-of-mind when it comes to Japanese-Peruvian fare. If you wanted an excellent umami risotto and mashed potato terrine, the restaurant has it; if you want creative, fun cocktails during happy hour, they can make that at the bar.

But if you want to switch it up a bit and try something new, there's something fresh on the menu made for serious seafood lovers. When in Makati, grab a seat at the newly renovated restaurant and try the Yuzu Prawns (P520) and the Pescado Fritto (P380).

Check out these two new seafood dishes at Nikkei Nama Bar:

Nikkei Nama Bar's new Yuzu Prawns is a simple dish with chunky bites of prawns in a fried batter crust that gives it the slightest crunch. What stands out in this dish is that it doesn't shy from flavor—there's a powerful tangy punch from the yuzu-infused mayonnaise and squeeze of kizame yuzu; a tingling heat from the rocoto mayonnaise and togarashi; and the saltiness of tobiko.

This is meant to be eaten as an appetizer, but it's definitely huge enough, at least in our book, to be enjoyed as a main dish. Luckily, you can order rice on the side—or go something completely different, like the Agedashi Tofu (P220).

On the other hand, if you don't like a sour-spicy combination, by all means, go with the Pescado Fritto. It's not what we'd consider a safe choice, but it's more of a dish that lets the seafood flavor shine in the spotlight.

This bowl has tempura-battered fried Alaskan pollock, stir-fried bell peppers, a sunny side up egg, fried onions, rice, and a cilantro miso aioli for a dip. This hefty bowl has a medley of mild tartness and sweetness that still lets the delicate fish shine.

It's always been the rule of thumb to pair seafood with wine. Luckily, Nikkei Nama Bar has a promo on a wine-based cocktail during happy hour. From 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., you can order two glasses of Aperol Spritz for P595 instead of its regular price of P700 (if you buy two).

Not in Makati? You can also catch the new seafood dishes at Nikkei BGC Uptown, and Newport Mall.

Nikkei Nama Bar Rada is at Frabelle Business Center, 111 Rada, Legazpi Village, Makati City. For more information, visit Nikkei Nama Bar's Facebook page.
