(SPOT.ph) We can blame many bad things on the pandemic, but there are also silver linings, i.e. making the switch to plant-based products. More specifically, replacing regular dairy milk with a plant-based version to add to your cup of joe. Most coffee shops, either big multinational coffee chains or startups, now have plant-based options as a non-dairy upgrade to their joes and brews—and one of the more popular options is oat milk which is a plant-based milk derived from oat grains.
Now, if we have plant-based milk for our daily cups of coffee, why can't we have the same for our cups of tea? For those on Team Oat Milk, Serenitea now allows you to upgrade your milk tea with OATSIDE's oat milk.

Check out Serenitea's new plant-based milk upgrade:
Serenitea's choice of OATSIDE milk is the OATSIDE Barista blend Oat M*lk, which is meant to add creaminess to your drink, but also have a neutral-leaning taste so as to not drastically alter the overall flavor of the drink.
Note, though, that while the thought of creating a plant-based version of your favorite Serenitea milk tea is exciting, not everything on the Serenitea menu can get the oat milk upgrade.
According to Serenitea's Facebook post, the only drinks that can be upgraded with OATSIDE are the following:
- Arctic Slush drinks (all flavors)
- Brown Sugar Fresh Milk
- Cafe Latte
- Emperor Milk Tea
- Green Tea Slush
- Hokkaido Espresso
- Hokkaido Milk Tea
- Matcha Latte
- Mocha Latte
- Okinawa Espresso
- Okinawa Milk Tea
- Taro Lover
- Wintermelon Milk Tea
If you've ever had your coffee with oat milk before, then you already know that this upgrade makes the drink more expensive than usual. After all, oat milk is relatively pricier than regular dairy milk, and premium and popular brands like OATSIDE make it even more expensive. So if you want an OATSIDE upgrade to any of the mentioned Serenitea drinks above, it would cost an additional P50/large-sized drink and an additional P40/medium-sized drink.
Serenitea's OATSIDE upgrade is available for dine-in, take-out, and delivery in Metro Manila-based Serenitea stores only. Additional fees apply for third-party delivery such as GrabFood and foodpanda.
See a list of Serenitea branches. For delivery orders, find Serenitea on GrabFood and foodpanda. For more information, check out Serenitea's Facebook page.
