(SPOT.ph) Ah, Boracay. It's home to sunny skies, clear blue waters, and now, juicy steaks and seafood dishes thanks to the recent opening of Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill in the island. Not only does it serve exclusive plates; it also gives you an unparalleled view of the ocean and mountains amid the fresh Bora breeze.

Here's a closer look at Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill in Boracay:
Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill—the relatively more affordable, grill-focused leg of Wolfgang's Steakhouse—opened their newest branch on February 29. You'll find it within the Boracay Newcoast property, right on the right-hand side of Belmont Hotel Boracay. It overlooks the gorgeous and powerful waves of the Sibuyan Sea, and you can even peep Cujo's Keyhole, a famous tourist spot on the island, from the restaurant. (Tip: If Station 1 and 2 are great areas to catch the sunset, it's specifically at Cujon Keyjole that offers the best view of the sunrise on the island.)
The restaurant's interiors exude a balance between the elegance of a fine-dining restaurant such as Wolfgang's Steakhouse, and the lax vibe of being on an island—and a mix of marble, leather, and wood is really all you need to strike that equilibrium.
Right as you enter, you'll see the marble bar and the glass wine cellar, and then there are the wooden walls, tables, and seats with red leather cushioning that invite you to take a seat. The place is quite small and intimate, but there are plans for the store to expand its seating capacity in the future.
If you want to take in the ocean breeze, there is an option to dine al fresco. But do check if the wind current is something you can manage as this part of Boracay tends to be breezier, as compared to Stations 1, et al., on the other side.

Why the Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill concept in Boracay?
President Peter Zwiener differentiates the two concepts, Wolfgang's Steakhouse and Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill, based on the menu offerings. “Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill has the basics of the Wolfgang's Steakhouse, but in Wolfgang's Steakhouse, we’re very strict. We don’t change the menu," he says in an exchange with SPOT.ph. On the other hand, the Grill serves other cuts of meats such as the Charbroiled Flank Steak that's thousands of pesos cheaper than their more well-known U.S.D.A. Prime cuts.
Being on an island and all, Zwiener decided to use the Grill concept to be "more open-minded with some of the dishes." "Whereas if we were downtown, with lots of corporate offices... we’d keep it to the Steakhouse," he says.
What are the dishes exclusively available at Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill Boracay?
What makes the Grill concept different is that it leaves a little more leeway for creativity in the kitchen. Don't miss their Boracay exclusives. "We have a local chef from the Philippines here, Chris. And he knows that my heritage, in addition to my German side which is Wolfgang, is Peruvian. There’s a lot of Peruvian-inspired dishes for the beach," Zwiener says about the inspiration for the branch-exclusive dishes at the Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill in Boracay.
Most of the exclusive dishes highlight seafood. For appetizers, there's the Salmon Crudo, which are slivers of chilled Norwegian salmon with lemon and herby dressing; and the Parihuela, a traditional Peruvian seafood soup with shrimp, fish, and squid with a spicy, thick seafood broth.
For more beach hors d'oeuvre, there's the Beach Tacos that uses broiled fresh (and naturally sweet!) lobster tail and deep-fried halibut, served with a soft housemade tortilla. Like it raw and refreshing? Go for the Ceviche Sampler which has a variation of seafood toppings from sea scallops, yellowfin tuna, and red snapper. The only non-seafood Boracay-exclusive appetizer is the Bitterballen, a crunchy croquette with a filling made with beef, horseradish cream, and the restaurant's signature peppercorn sauce as its savory dip.
If you're hungry, go for the heftier options like the Fish Sandwich. Their version of the classic puts the spotlight on a moist deep-fried halibut, tucked in between brioche buns and a dressing of the restaurant's aioli.
Of course, you'll still see their signature prime steaks such as the Porterhouse and Tomahawk on the menu. Present, too, are other well-known dishes such as Wolfgang's Crab Cake, Lomo Saltado, and Grilled Barbecue Baby Back Ribs.
How to get to Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill Boracay:
This Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill is not in Station 1 nor Station 2—it's all the way on the other side of the island, roughly 10 to 15 minutes away if you're riding a shuttle or you chartered a tricycle to get inside. If you're staying inside a Boracay Newcoast hotel (i.e. Belmont Hotel Boracay and Savoy Hotel Boracay), you can pre-book a shuttle free of charge.
Don't worry, as private as the Boracay Newcoast property is, anyone is allowed to go inside and go straight to the restaurant. For those in other areas of Boracay, the restaurant offers shuttle services with pick-up points at E.Mall, Station X, Azalea, D Mall, 24/7, Astoria 1, Balabag Plaza, and Two Seasons. You can call to inquire about the shuttle services at 0915-757-2867 or (036) 286-2560.
