Sake Manila Brings More Than 200 Labels Under One Roof

(SPOT.ph) There's a growing interest in alcohol outside conventional wine and beer locally, and we're more than happy to hop on the ride. If your heart skips a beat over the Japanese rice wine called sake, you'll want to mark your calendars for Sake Manila, a one-night rendezvous with the Japanese drink that's happening this May.

Here's what to expect at Sake Manila 2024:

Happening on May 24 at Okada Manila, Sake Manila is a special fair zoning in on sake (Japanese rice wine, technically nihonshu in Japan but colloquially termed "sake" globally). They'll be having over 200 labels of sake, shochu, whisky, gin, beer, and wine from more than 40 breweries and distilleries available for sampling—talk about the perfect opportunity to learn more about the beverage.

It ain't just about drinking; you'll also have the opportunity to interact with sake masters, brewery owners, and brand ambassadors at the event. In between sips, you can also nosh on Japanese bites prepared by the Okada team—we're talking fresh sashimi, umami-rich skewers, and more, chosen specifically to go with your alcoholic sips.

Excited yet? Sake Manila will be taking place on May 24, 4 p.m. onwards, at the Grand Ballroom on the Coral Wing of Okada Manila. Tickets are limited and can be purchased via Sake Manila's website at P5,500 a pop.
