(SPOT.ph) Being one of the biggest coffee producers in the world, it's no surprise that Vietnam has coffee shops on almost every street—from ones hidden in nondescript narrow alleyways to mom-and-pop shops. The country sure can keep you awake 24/7. And it comes as no surprise, yet again, that the biggest coffee chains in the country are all homegrown. Among those chains is Cong Caphe.
If you’ve ever sipped on Cong Caphe’s coconut coffee during a trip to Vietnam and went nuts over it, you’re in luck. The beloved Vietnamese coffee chain is skipping the airfare and landing on our shores. Come February, Cong Caphe is opening its first-ever store in the Philippines.

Cong Caphe opens its first store in the Philippines at Gateway Mall 2
Last November, Cong Caphe PH posted on Facebook that they would be opening their first Philippine branch at Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City, Quezon City. According to a report by GMA News published January 6th, the coffee shop's target opening date is mid-February this year.
There's no word yet as to what coffee and pastries will be included on the Gateway Mall 2 branch's menu, but we are hoping the bestsellers are present at the very least. The popular drink Cong Caphe is known for is its line of coconut coffee which includes Coconut Coffee, Coconut Green Rice, Coconut Green Bean, Coconut Cocoa, and Coconut Chocolate.
Adding to our list of hopes is that Cong Caphe at Gateway Mall 2 will have Cong Caphe's signature look—think vintage posters, grayscale photos, and other elements associated with Vietnam's history. Here's a look inside some of Cong Caphe's existing branches:
Oh, while waiting for Cong Caphe to open at Gateway Mall 2, we do have a Vietnamese restaurant guide to tide you over. This list features restaurants that can transport you to Vietnam through both its stunning, vibrant visuals and authentic flavors of pho, bahn mi, and, of course, Vietnamese coffee.
Cong Caphe is at Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City. For more information, check out Cong Caphe PH's Facebook page.
