Spicebird, Bao MNL+ more at Supermanly Eats 2016
What to look forward to at this meaty food fest
(SPOT.ph) This year's edition of Manly Eats is happening on June 18 to 19 then again on June 25 to 26, and delicious things are headed for The Podium, Mandaluyong City.
Culinary curator JJ Yulo has once again selected exciting eats from all around the country, upgrading Manly Eats to Supermanly Eats this time around. Boracay's Spicebird, famous for destroying bikini-ready bodies with their piri-piri chicken, is setting up shop, as well as Pampanga's sought-after Banh Mi.
Representing Cavite are D'Famous Imus Longganisa, whose spread of meaty, savory links wowed at this year's Madrid Fusion Manila, and Asiong's, a classic carinderia favorite of locals and tourists alike. Those who don't often find themselves in the south might be pleased to know that SPOT.ph's No. 1 tapas stop Bar Pintxos is also joining the fray.
The folks behind Your Local and Hole in the Wall will also be teasing their newest concept Hey Handsome (which will soon open in Bonifacio Global City). Supermanly Eats will also showcase the talents of chefs like Joseph Margate (we heard he's going to regale customers with innovative sandwiches), sinigang and humba master Seya Ortega, and Ian Padilla.
Of course, old favorites can be relied on to show up with their tried-and-tested hits—as well as some new inventions. Supermanly Eats will feature crowd-pleasers like Earnest Bakes, Risa Chocolates, Pepi Cubano, Chili Asylum, Traydor Hot Sauce, Liquido Maestro, Pedro Brewcrafters, Stanford and Shaw, Ribs Manila, Bao MNL, Fog City Creamery, and more.
Currently, JJ is still polishing his lineup. He's careful to choose brands who can represent the local food scene as well as contribute something new. "I approached the playful, thinking ones and those who I want to push because I believe in their immense talent. I chose those who are passionate about their product," he says.
This year's Supermanly Eats will also introduce a more well-rounded lifestyle selection and will feature fashion and other non-culinary vendors.
