(SPOT.ph) Local chocolate is having a moment right now: Aside from homegrown chocolate brands winning awards, getting a bar of your favorite local chocolate is becoming easier than ever. Bazaar-darling Risa Chocolates has always been available in a lot of stores that showcase local products, but they finally have their own standalone branch at Power Plant Mall's The Grid, tentatively opening this week.
Aside from carrying their best-selling bars like their Pastillas de Pili, Bacon Chili Chocolate, and Brown Butter Milk Chocolate With Hazelnuts, as well as their truffles and pralines, co-owner Pam Cinco shares in an email interview with SPOT.ph that Risa will also offer an exclusive menu of chocolate-based items.
"Risa at The Grid will offer the Risa Chocolate favorites, plus really delicious creations that [we] don't get to offer regularly. Some of these are our signature Risa hot chocolate and our new chocolate drink concoctions; the Chover, which is ice cream [with a] hot chocolate pour-over, and a Craft Your Own Chocolate Bar Section."
Cinco adds that currently "this chocolate shop is our present and our future," though they do have plans of opening other shops in the future. Still, it looks like you'll have to come and visit The Grid first.
Risa Chocolates is at The Grid, R2 Level Expansion, Power Plant Mall, Makati City.
*Update: An earlier version of this story misquoted Cinco as saying they have no plans to open more Risa Chocolates stores. This has since been corrected.
