(SPOT.ph) Mangoes, specifically mango-graham-inspired desserts, were the craze in 2019, but perhaps it's time for another fruit to take the spotlight. Avocado has always been trendy in the U.S. and Europe—think avocado toast—but when it comes to the fruit, we Pinoys prefer it sweet. Enter Avocadoria, a food stall owned by Chef Czarina Jagto, which specializes in decadent avocado-based desserts.

Ayn Angeles, owner of the UP Town Center franchise, shares a bit of history behind the brand with SPOT.ph via e-mail: "It all started when [Chef Czarina] started making Avocado Ice Cream Cheesecake and selling it to her friends," she narrates. "Eventually, she was able to come up with a few products and opened a small stall along Marcos Highway."

Currently, Avocadoria has five branches, and a menu of scrumptuous avocado desserts. They offer their signature Avocado Ice Cream Cheesecake (P550/one tin), but their current bestsellers are the Avocado Lover (P110/8 oz, P125/12 oz) which has avocado soft-serve, avocado slices, nuts, crushed graham crackers, flax, and chia seeds; and the Avocado Dream (P90), which is avocado ice cream served in an avocado shell and topped with pastillas. A new fruit might just take the Metro by storm this year.
