( Some restaurants offer food that just feel like a big, warm hug—and Mom & Tina’s Bakery Café is one of those places, thanks to their dishes that are big on flavor and generous in servings. If you're in need of some consolation—and who isn't, really, given everything that's happening in the world right now—you'll be happy to know that they’re reopening their Pasig branch on May 8 for takeout, pickup, and delivery via GrabFood and Foodpanda. They’ll be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A plate of tapsilog does wonders for your taste buds and your resolve—it might just be the motivation you need to make this day a good day. Mom & Tina's makes a particularly excellent version, dubbed the U.S. Beef Tapa (P375)—a crispy take on the Filipino breakfast falvorite with egg, garlic rice, and atsara. Meanwhile, their Meat Lasagna (P295) comes with layers of beef, tomato, and cream sauce, plus garlic rolls for good measure. And for those #gainz, go for their Grilled Chicken Steak (P390), which is served with buttered vegetables, gravy, and your choice of rice, mashed potatoes, or fries for a satisfying meal.

Their Chocolate Fudge Cake lives up to the "fudgy" part of its name.

Of course, no Mom & Tina’s meal is complete without one of their signature desserts. They’ve got whole cakes, such as the six-inch Chocolate Fudge Cake (P630)—one of our favorite chocolate cakes in Manila for its rich and moist base and thick, fudgy frosting. For an easier-to-share treat, go for one of their cupcakes, like the Carrot Cupcake (P80)—another one of our favorites of its kind in the city, thanks to its dense and heavy base.

Mom & Tina's is a homegrown café known for their home-style comfort eats and pastries. In case you were wondering, "Mom" and "Tina" are real people: Tina Torres-Santos and mom Belen Vergara Torres. Their bakery café started as a "family pastime" and turned into a full-fledged bakery café. Their first branch opened in 1997.

For orders, find them GrabFood and Foodpanda. For more information, check out Mom & Tina’s Bakery Cafe's Facebook page.
