(SPOT.ph) Frontliners aren’t limited to doctors and nurses—this group of brave and hardworking people also includes drivers and delivery riders, who have been tirelessly working for our convenience. A number of restaurants around the Metro have taken it upon themselves to show their appreciation by giving back. Here, we highlight these establishments and how they’re reaching out to these frontliners.

These restaurants in the Metro are paying it forward to delivery riders:
Sweet Ecstasy
As if their cheeseburger (our favorite in Manila!) wasn’t enough of a reason to love Sweet Ecstasy, they’re also giving back to delivery riders. According to Rappler, this homegrown restaurant reserves one day a week where they provide meals for riders and couriers. The meals aren’t exclusively from their restaurant; they also order from other local restaurants in an effort to support them. You can place your orders by sending a Viber message to the branch nearest you, or find them on GrabFood or Foodpanda.
Green Bar
This vegan establishment makes killer doughnuts and other soul-food eats that happen to be free of animal products. Aside from donating to medical frontliners, back in April, they also would give cold drinks and snacks to riders for every delivery order they would pick up. “They are working so hard to make sure others can eat,” says co-owner Jade Santos. “We thought this was the least we could do during such tiring times.” You can call or text 0917-808-2506 for orders and they can help in arranging deliveries.
Sariwon Korean Barbecue, Soban K-Town Grill, and Sibyullee Unlimited Korean BBQ
These restaurants under the Happyfoods Group give packed meals to your delivery rider with every order placed on the Happyfoods’ delivery website. They cater to most areas in Metro Manila, and orders are scheduled for delivery or pickup two days after payment is validated. You can pay via GCash, or Metrobank or BDO bank deposit; note that there’s a minimum amount of P400 for orders.
Update (June 2, 2020, 3:25 p.m.): Green Bar has clarified that since temporarily closing and reopening, they have not restarted giving food to frontliners. The article has been corrected to reflect that development.
