(SPOT.ph) Everyone has needed to adjust to quarantine restrictions. One Aeta community in San Marcelino, Zambales, has even turned to selling their produce online to stay afloat. If you'd like to help out—and get your needed dose of fresh veggies, of course—you can order online through The MAD Market. They also sell everything from greens to mangoes to organic honey, all sourced from Dumagat and Aeta communities.
"Laking epekto po ang quarantine sa amin dahil 'yong aming mga produkto, hindi namin maibenta sa bayan kasi po bawal na po kaming lalabas sa bayan," community leader Gabriel Cabalic told ABS-CBN. Their community in Sitio Yangin partnered up with Make a Difference Travel to help sell their produce online.
Also known as MAD Travel, this social enterprise works with marginalized communities and helps put them on the map. Pre-quarantine, they organized tours for people to experience and learn about life in these communities and now they're still working with the same people to get their produce across.
A look at their latest menu shows you can order veggies such as celery and radish, fruits such as mangoes and pomelo, and even baked goods such as banana cake, plus organic forest honey! Just be sure to check the updated menu on their site to see what's available. You can place your order through a form on the site and pay through online transfer or bank deposit and expect the goods to be delivered to your address.
