Sagada's Famous Lemon Pie Will Soon Be Available in Metro Manila
Satisfy your wanderlust through your stomach.
(SPOT.ph) Anyone who has ever visited the cold Sagada town way up north has probably passed by the popular Lemon Pie House—and of course sampled their light and tart take on the classic pie! Located in Atey, Daoangan, Sagada, their lemon pie is a family recipe of owner Joseph Daoas, who based it on his mother's recipe. The chances of you travelling hundreds of kilometers away are probably very slim right now, but if you want to get a taste of this pie, here's something to check out: The Fruit Ninja will begin delivering boxes of the famed Lemon Pie (P550/box) on alternate weekends starting October 11 to Metro Manila!
The Fruit Ninja is based in Malabon, Metro Manila. You can contact them through their Facebook page for orders—and note that slots are limited for the Sagada lemon pie! They accept payments through bank transfers, GCash, or PayMaya and delivery can be done through the usual couriers.
Aside from the popular lemon pie, you can also get other goodies from across the Mountain Province and Benguet from The Fruit Ninja. There's yogurt from H.O.Y., a.k.a. House of Yogurt Lover; A bottle of 410 grams will cost P285. Fresh lemons, oranges, and strawberries are also available.
The humble two-storey Sagada Lemon Pie House has been a go-to spot for Sagada tourists for years now. After taking a trek though the municipality's caves and historic spots, most would trudge back to the resto for a good meal and a pie treat. It first opened way back in 2008—while the recipe itself took around 12 years to perfect, according to their official blog.
