Confirmed: The Jollibee Champ Is Back

The Champ is back, tell a friend.

(SPOT.ph) A few days ago, we tried to put Jollibee on the spot, all because of the hints dropped on the local fast-food chain's Twitter page. Plenty of people in the Twitterverse had their own guesses about the return of an "Ultimate favorite," and from out of the phased-out menu items, the most popular "requests" were to bring back the Garlic Pepper Beef and Ultimate Burger Steak. Ultimately, Jollibee has made its decision as the Champ burger returns on their menu starting today, October 30, as posted on the chain's Facebook page.

Aside from the original Champ (P150), there are two other variants to choose from. There's the sweet-savory Amazing Aloha Champ (P199) with honey mustard dressing and two juicy pineapple rings, and Bacon Champ (P185), which comes with two strips of bacon.

You can order these burgers through JollibeeDelivery.com, their own App, #87000,  as well as delivery apps GrabFood, Foodpanda, and Lalafood. You can also order via drive-thru and or have it for take out. The catch is that it's only available in selected stores nationwide, so make sure to check their list before you head out.

The Champ was first introduced in 1984 and is characterized by a burger with a thick 1/3 lb patty made with 100% pure beef. It also has topped cheese, lettuce and tomato.

It hasn't been that long since the Champ was discontinued, but 2020 sure did feel longer than it should. Jollibee announced the phase-out of the beloved burger in January. They did say in their official statement that "there's always a chance that old classics—including the Champ—may return in the future," so we guess the fast-food chain is just keeping their word. We feel like we're the real champs here.

It's not the first time a well-loved item on the menu made a comeback. In October, the Buko Pie, which used to be a seasonal treat, was made a permanent part of their menu.
