(SPOT.ph) For many Chinese folks (and people of other cultures!) around the world, Chinese New Year (a.k.a. Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival) is the time of the year to be merry and celebrate with a bang, i.e. with lots of great food. If you're looking to celebrate in a way that'll please your inner gourmand, we've got news: Man Ho is bringing in Alaskan king crabs in time for the festivities, so you can treat yourself and your family or friends!

Alaskan king crabs are no ordinary crabs; for one, they're quite scarce and dangerous to fish. But its meat is prized for its distinctly rich and sweet-tasting profile, as well as its tenderness (which is said to be comparable to that of lobster meat!). Man Ho highlights the crab's telltale flavor by letting you enjoy it either steamed or served Singaporean-style, with braised e-fu noodles and a black truffle sauce.

Yummy Alaskan King Crab

An order of the Alaskan king crab goes for P22,888—not exactly cheap, we know, but it does serve two to four people, and once you get a the taste of the crab, you'll know that it's simply one of a kind. Plus, as Man Ho puts it: "The king crab signifies success in pursuits such as business and symbolizes good fortune"—who's not up for good luck? This is available for preorders as early as now until February 10, and it'll be available for dine-in and takeout from February 12 to 14.

And if it's good ol' tikoy you seek, Man Ho's got that, too: choose from Big and Small Koi Fish Tikoy Set  in a premium red box (P1,988), or the Small Koi Fish and One Gold Bar Tikoy Set (P1,388). The classic rice cake is also known as nian gao, and it's considered good luck to eat it during this time of the year.
