We Tried Dairy-Free Magnum Ice Cream and Here's What We Think
It's certified by the Vegan Awareness Foundation.
(SPOT.ph) It can be challenging when you're trying to avoid dairy—whatever the reason—as a lot of great eats in the Metro contain butter, milk, cream, or other dairy products. It can definitely be a challenge when you're out and about and the ice-cream craving hits! But this won't be the case for long; the good news is, Magnum has a dairy-free version of their famous ice-cream bars!
The Magnum Dairy-Free Almond has Magnum's signature vanilla ice cream—turned dairy-free, of course—and vegan Belgian chocolate, topped with roasted almonds for a welcome crunch. It's also crafted with pea proteins and certified by the Vegan Awareness Foundation! We tried it and were pretty blown away—it's rich and creamy just like the O.G. Magnum, and wouldn't have guessed it was dairy-free it it didn't say so on the package.
While there's no official word yet on its price or where it'll be available, there have been reports on social media about it being spotted and sold at a number of shops around the Metro—such as Robinsons Ermita Manila Supermarket and 7-Eleven's Mindanao Avenue branch. Landers Supermarket also lists boxes of the Non-Dairy Classic and Non-Dairy Almond versions of Magnum, but these are currently out of stock; there's also a Vegan Magnum that you can get also get from Landers, though it's unclear if this is exactly the same product. Vegan shop The Vegan Grocer has also announced that they'll be selling it soon. Either way, we can't wait for it to be rolled out at more stores!
