Treat Yourself: Where to Order Cakes by the Slice in Manila
Because anytime is a good time for cake.
(SPOT.ph) Having a grand and eye-popping cake on the table is always a treat, but let’s face it: It’s quite a commitment, as most cakes are meant to serve more than one. Unless you’re feeding a crowd, you’re forced to deal with leftovers for the days to come. But sometimes you just want a small portion—say, just enough for one meal. Or maybe you’re after variety, and would rather sample small portions of many different flavors. The solution? Order cakes by the slice! Though not always available as an option, there are quite a few shops in Manila that let you order single slices; some of them even deliver.
Order cakes by the slice and have them delivered from these shops:
Wildflour is famous for a lot great bakes—cakes, of course, included. The good news is, some of their signature cakes are available by the slice! Go bittersweet (with a welcome salty touch) with the Salted Chocolate Cake (P350), which is one of our favorites in Manila; spiced and nutty with the Carrot Cake (P295), another one of our top picks in the city; or tangy with the sunny-tasting Lemon Almond Cake (P270). You can order these from their delivery website, or via Grabfood or Foodpanda.
Formerly known as Classic Confections, Nono’s is a homegrown bakeshop with reliably great-quality cakes. If you’re looking to get your fix of their famous Nono’s Chocolate Oblivion or Blueberry Cheesecake—both of which are two of our faves in Manila—you’ll be happy to know that they’re available by the slice when you order through delivery apps! Aside from the aforementioned signatures (which both cost P215 a slice), you can also try the bright and fruity Lemon Torte (P215) or buttery Dulce de Leche (P215), among others. Just look for Nono’s on GrabFood, Foodpanda, or Pickaroo.

When you’re at the mall and the hankering for a good dessert strikes, Mary Grace is likely one of the first places that comes to mind. They make reliably great cakes that you can get by the slice and have delivered when you order through GrabFood or Pickaroo! They’ve got everything from deep and decadent chocolate cakes like the Chocolate Truffle (P225); silky-on-the-tongue contenders like the Mary Grace Cheesecake (P223); and crunchy-creamy faves like the Toasted Almond Sans Rival (P271). Just look for them on the app of your choice.

Dessert shop and bespoke bakery Workshop is famed for their towering cakes that would make grand centerpieces for any celebration—but if you’re just looking for a treat for yourself, the good news is that you can order these cakes in slices! You can’t go wrong with their famous 17-Layer Chocolate Cake (P340) or uber-creamy Basque Burnt Cheesecake (P285), but don’t miss their newer items, too—some of which are the Pistachio Sansrival (P375) Mango Shortcake (P210). Go ahead and visit The Grid’s delivery website to order.
Not ready to order a whole version of Conti's famous Mango Bravo (which is infamously not the easiest to slice)? The good news is that you can order just a slice (P245) from their website or delivery apps! That way, you get a serving with the perfect ratio of crunchy wafers, chocolate mousse, cream and mango cubes.
More than great gelato, Cara Mia is also famed for their decadent yet balanced cakes. They’re best known for their creamy-nutty Ube Cake (P155), but it’s also well worth trying their bittersweet Coffee Honeycomb (P145), nostalgic Chocolate S’Mores (P155), and fresh and fruity Mango Magnifico (P155) cakes. Simply visit their website or look for them on GrabFood or Foodpanda.
Chocolat Deep Dark Chocolate Cakes
Looking for a chocolate cake with a real good hit of, well, chocolate? Chocolat’s got your back, and they’ve got quite the variety of chocolate cakes that you can get by the slice. The Deep Dark Classic (P85) is a great take on a classic, no-frills chocolate cake, while the Bailey’s (P95) marries the dusky edge of chocolate with the famous Irish Cream of the same name. Our personal favorite, though, is the Death by Tablea (P115)—it placed seventh on our 2016 Top 10 Chocolate Cakes in Manila list for its robust chocolate flavor. You can order via GrabFood.

There's more to this famous coffee shop than just, well, coffee—they've got a great lineup of eats, including swoon-worthy cakes by the slice. They've got mainstays like the Blueberry-licious Cheesecake (P245), which placed fifth in our 2020 Top 10 Blueberry Cheesecakes list, and Classic Chocolate Cake (P215). Do keep an eye out for their seasonal food items as well; as of writing, they've also got the Sinless Bliss Cake (P255) that delivers a chocolate-cherry profile. Just look for Starbucks on GrabFood to order.
