(SPOT.ph) Some would argue that new year's festivities are a manmade attempt to give a semblance of meaning to our lives, yet ultimately a social construct. (Those people must be fun at parties.) But hey, there's really nothing wrong with celebrating the new year—objectively the start of a new 365 to 366 days of the Earth moving in its orbit around the Sun—by using it as an excuse to feast on new eats and sips! Anyways, if you're a regular at Starbucks, you probably already have your go-to drink—but in the name of going out of your comfort zone, or just for the heck of trying out a novel beverage, you'll want to check out their new drinks that highlight the vibrant, fruity flavor of pear.

Try a different kind of sip this 2022 with these new drinks at Starbucks:

If you're all about the earthy-grassy taste of matcha, you'll want to go for the Poached Pear Pure Matcha Latte (starts at P170/tall)—here, the green tea meets its creamy match with milk but also gets a bright lift from the addition of poached pear plus almonds for crunch. For a more straightforward fruity sip you can go for the Poached Pear Oolong (starts at P170/short), where poached pear is given a subtly floral tinge with Starbucks' own Zen Cloud Oolong Tea.

Loved Starbucks' Smoked Butterscotch Latte from last year? You'll be happy to know the drink—a combo of Starbucks' signature espresso, steamed milk, and a smoked butterscotch sauce—is making a limited-time comeback, available as a hot or iced drink (starts at P185/tall) or iced-blended Frappuccino (starts at P190/tall). Also on Starbucks' lineup are sweet and savory new nibbles, including the pillowy-cheesy Creamy Cheese Log (P75) and the strawberry jam-filled Love Doughnut (P75). They're also bringing back a number of previously available seasonal treats, like the Mango Float Cake (P215/slice, P1,720/whole) and Vanilla Cream Doughnut (P75).
