(SPOT.ph) Brown sugar boba milk drinks rose in popularity in the Philippines around 2018 to 2019, tempting with its decidedly dessert-esque yet refreshing profile that combines the creaminess of milk, the toffeelike depth of brown sugar, and the fun factor of chewy pearls. You'll find different versions around the Metro, both with and without tea—but its telltale taste actually pairs beautifully with a whole host of other flavors. Over at Tiger Sugar, they've played around with everything from jasmine tea to Milo—and their newest drinks will have fans of Japanese desserts swooning. Check out their just-launched boba milk drinks featuring matcha and red bean!

Try these new matcha and red bean drinks from Tiger Sugar:

There's the Brown Sugar Red Bean Boba Milk with Cream Mousse (P160), which has an added earthiness from sweetened red beans. These soft and tender beans also make for excellent textural variety with the smooth milk and the chewy pearls. Alternatively, you can go for the Brown Sugar Boba Matcha Milk with Cream Mousse (P170). If you've ever had those Japanese desserts that combine matcha green tea and kuromitsu (Japanese black sugar syrup), this brings to mind just that, in a silky, sippable medium with chewy pearls to boot! These new drinks launch today, February 1 and are available for dine-in, takeout, and delivery.

Tiger Sugar hails from Taichung in Taiwan and opened their first Philippine branch in 2018. They’re named after the “stripes” of brown sugar that you’ll find on their signature drinks, which include the Brown Sugar Boba Milk and Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Cream Mousse (which placed fourth on our 2019 Top 10 Brown Sugar Milk Drinks in Manila list!). Notably, their drinks use fresh milk rather than the usual creamer employed in other milk-tea places.
