End of an Era: The Fort Institution Caffe Puccini Has Closed for Good
The Italian restaurant was one of the OGs of BGC.
(SPOT.ph) For regulars of The Fort Strip in BGC and many other food lovers in the Metro, Caffe Puccini is an institution. The Italian spot is among the area's oldest and most resilient restaurants, having opened way back in the early 2000s and serving up great Italian fare like pasta, pizza, and more—we were especially fond of their squid-ink risotto, which made it to our Top 10 Risotto Dishes in Manila list in 2016. With that, we couldn't be more dismayed to find out that the restaurant officially closed their doors permanently in January this year of 2022.
Caffe Puccini has officially closed their famed Italian restaurant:
Caffe Puccini made the announcement through a post on their official Facebook page published January 2, stating that they had closed the restaurant for good on January 1. "We very much appreciate your patronage and have enjoyed serving you," they write. "We sincerely thank you for your business and kind support, and we will definitely miss you."
Likewise, they will definitely be missed. They were established way back in 2004, getting their moniker from Italian composer Giacomo Puccini and dishing up savory Italian classics and coffee that gained them numerous regulars over the years. Hold on to those memories, Spotters, and try and support your favorite local spots while you can.
