For those who like their strawberry desserts on the especially-delicate end of the spectrum, Amelia’s Recipes’ Strawberry Shortcake (P2,800) is just a thing. Here, whispy chiffon-cake layers are hugged by a gossamer strawberry cream in a subdued shade of pink—and more strawberries in between the layers emphasize the berry element even further. Every forkful melts in the mouth like a cloud, leaving behind the pure and unadulterated taste of strawberries and cream.
Strawberry Shortcake from Malia Home Bakery
We’ve raved about this simple but stellar Strawberry Shortcake (P1,100/eight inches) for how it ticks all the right boxes. Think light and airy chiffon that jiggles as you slice, paired with billowy whipped cream with a light pink hue and good amount of real berry flavor. Finally, fresh strawberry pieces in between the layers and on top of the cake add pops of juiciness and tanginess as the perfect finishing touch.
Strawberry Celebration Cake from Wildflour
True to its name, Wildflour’s Strawberry Celebration Cake (P2,900) is real worthy of a celebration. Flaunting an ethereal ballerina-pink hue, this dessert layers together feather-light sponge cake layers and cream kissed with berries. Though best known for their stellar breads, The Daily Knead’s got a solid cake game too—and apart from their signature chocolate cake with olive oil we’re also fans of the Sparkling Chandon Strawberry Cake (starts at P2,000/midi without flowers). This sophisticated take on good ol’ strawberry shortcake adds sparkling wine to the equation, by way of a Chandon Brut-infused cream that joins layers of chiffon cake, a tangy strawberry compote, and strawberry-tinged chantilly cream.
Strawberry Shortcake by Baby Yulo
This longtime Spot.ph fave (starts at P1,600/small) isn’t the easiest to order; Baby Yulo doesn’t have an official social media page, so you’ll have to go the old-school landline route and have the cake picked up at North Forbes, Makati. But it’s well worth the effort; one spoonful will let you see why it continues to be so dang well-loved. It’s got an exterior of light-pink strawberry cream with visible berry specks, an interior of what seems to be chiffon cake with the distinct (but not overpowering) richness of egg yolks. When served frozen or semi-frozen, the cream takes on a rich and velvety consistency that’s not unlike semifreddo or strawberry ice cream—but it’s also excellent thawed, as the cream softens into a billowy, airy chantilly cream of sorts.

Berry Bouquet Cake from The Sweet Life by Ange
The Sweet Life by Ange is known for their whimsical yet opulent cakes—and for the pink or strawberry lover in your life you'll want to try the Berry Bouquet (P7,500). They go all out with the decor here—we're talking buttercream rosettes in gradiating shades of pink, a topping with white-chocolate dipped strawberries and fresh roses, and even flakes of 24k gold leaf! Yup, definitely a showstopper.
Strawberry Shortcake from The Pastry Company
While we’re suckers for elaborate desserts ourselves, sometimes you don’t want any frills or fuss—you just want a straightforward but stellar cake that does justice to the classic and The Pastry Company’s Strawberry Shortcake (P1,800) is exactly that. Think soft, feathery genoise cake layers that dissolve like air on the tongue, matched with an equally delicate strawberry whipped cream that’s not too sweet yet delivers genuine berry flavor. Though the cream is on the pale-pink end of the saturation spectrum, its topping of bright red berries and berry compote add a pop of color that’ll catch the eye as much as it captivates the taste buds.

Are you one to go big or go home? Workshop’s 17-Layer Strawbery Cake (P2,300) is just the thing. As the name implies, this pumped-up take on strawberry shortcake goes for a whopping 17 alternating layers of thin, light chiffon and fresh strawberry cream in a light carnation-y shade of pink! Towering as this cake may look, it’s rightfully light in texture—making it all too easy to finish a slice, and maybe even go back for seconds. (No one’s judging.)

Pink Lemonade from Tilde
Strawberries plus cream are always great, of course. But in the name of amping up that fruity element, Tilde lets zesty ol’ lemon join the party in their Pink Lemonade Cake (P250/petite, P1,500/large)—with real stellar results! Here, Tilde’s lush and tangy lemon curd illuminates ethereal layers of sponge cake, whipped cream, and strawberry compote. Butternut Bakery goes for a very berry profile in their Cupid’s Strawberry Chantilly Cake (P1,950), a limited-time offering they introduced for Valentine's season this 2022. This stunning pink treat's got layers of vanilla sponge cake, a housemade berry compote, and a berry-tinged créme chantilly between and around the cake layers—not to mention a topping of fresh strawberries, blueberries, edible flowers, and gold flakes! You'll want to catch this while you can, though, as it's only available until February 28.
